It is said with great disappointment that we will be cancelling the Dave Aldridge Memorial Primary School Gala Day scheduled to be held in Mudgee for 2020.
Due to COVID-19 and the necessary safety protocols for schools, sports and the community at large, NSW Touch in consultation with Mudgee Touch Association have made the difficult decision to cancel the scheduled gala day for 2020. With interest shown from the Mudgee region, we looked at various ways that we could potentially get this day up and running. In the end, the risk unfortunately outweighed all else.
While we have been optimistic that we could also look to reschedule gala days, we understand that schools, specifically teachers and students are operating in a much-changed environment and with the many logistical considerations to ensure a safe community, we do not wish to inconvenience our schools by constantly changing dates. Furthermore, with a condensed sporting calendar across the state, field bookings and usage are being closely monitored by locals Councils with reduced availability.
This is very unfortunate for all involved as this is one of our favourite events to deliver and see all the children enjoying themselves throughout the day.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time and we hope to be back on the fields as soon as we can.
