Mudgee Men’s 30s have become country champions.

Playing on their home turf, the Mudcrabs won the grand final 4-3 against Wollongong Devils on Sunday at Glen Willow.

Mudgee only lost one match on their way to the trophy, coincidently to the Devils in the preliminary rounds (6-7).

The Mudcrabs finished on top of their division with wins in the pool games against Maitland (9-4), Canberra City Magic (9-6) and Dubbo (7-1).

Their form continued in the semi-final with a 6-0 win over Maitland before knocking off Wollongong.

Former Australian international player and Mudgee product Simon Lang was named player of the final.

It is Mudgee’s first country championship title in three years.
