New registration system

Aug 17, 2020 | General, Junior Touch, Senior Touch

There is a new way to register to play in the Mudgee Touch competition this summer – MySideline.

MySideline is Touch Football’s new competition management and registration systems. The new system will deliver a multitude of benefits for the sport, its administrators and participants. To play in this summer’s men, women, mixed or junior Mudgee Touch Association competitions, all players must have a MySideline account. You can create a MySideline account by clicking here. If you already have an NRL Account (from playing rugby league in 2020), you do not need to create a new one – just simply use your current NRL Account.

Why the change?

Touch Football and Rugby League have had the same digital competition management and registration system for 15 years. A lot has changed in 15 years, especially in the technology space, so it’s time for an upgrade. Touch Football Australia (TFA) and the NRL’s contracts for the current platform were coming to an end on 1st April 2020, which provided an excellent opportunity to investigate alternatives that would better suit the sports, administrators and participants.

What will be some benefits of the new platform?

MySideline will eventually make your lives easier and participant experiences better. We are fortunate that, due to TFA’s partnership with the NRL, we are able to benefit from the huge investment and resourcing the NRL are putting into this upgrade for both sports.

MySideline will:

  • Be built mobile-first with technology that is being led by the requirements of the sport, rather than technology limitations shaping the way we need to run the sport. TFA and the NRL have control over the development roadmap instead of having to make our sport operate from an existing system.
  • Be focused around a single ‘NRL Account’ sign-in, so participants will have an easier, more engaging registration experience, as well as profile portal, and administrators will have cleaner participant data. This single registration will allow for easier crossover for participating in one form of the game to another.
  • Have a Finder with a filter, for easier navigation to relevant competitions.
  • Have a central point for registration into all competitions.
  • Have a new, centralised match centre for fixtures and results accessed.

What you need to do:

At the moment, team and player registrations for the 2020-21 Mudgee Touch Association men, women, mixed and junior competitions are not open. However, you can be prepared by creating a MySideline account. All players must register via MySideline and to do so, need an account. To register for MySideline, click here.
