They say lightning never strikes twice, however, the Women’s Division One grand final dispelled that theory.
For the second consecutive year the women’s main game between Stride Health and Cudgegong Plumbing was decided in a drop-off with Stride Health once again coming out on top 5-4.
The match had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Cudgegong Plumbing started strongly and jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but after a slow start, Stride Health switched on halfway through the match and levelled up the scores.
With the scores locked at 4-4 at full-time, a 4-on-4, two-minute drop-off ensued.
As the full-time siren sounded for the drop-off, a pass from Zali Yeo sent Grace Quinn into the corner for Stride Health to take the match 5-4.
Quinn received the Sam Bateman Perpetual Award for Player of the Final.
The Women’s Division Two grand final rubber-stamped Jade Env’s dominance with a 7-1 victory over Kiddie Academy Mudgee.
Kasey Hayes and Ella Callaghan each bagged a double for their side as Jade Env completed an undefeated season.
Sarah Marshall was named the Player of the Final.
