Dubbo trouble for rivals

Feb 23, 2023 | Junior Touch, Representative

The 2023 NSW Touch Junior State Cup northern conference will be held in Dubbo this weekend with Mudgee sending a full quota of teams.

It is the first time the sport’s largest touch football tournament will be held in the Central West and Mudgee is hoping the ‘closer-to-home’ location could put the Mudcrabs in good stead.

Mudgee will be sending teams in all 10 age divisions – the first time the club has done so in its 40-year history.

Fresh off their victory at the Pete Wilson Memorial Championships in Nelson Bay three weeks ago, the under 10s girls will be hoping to add the state northern conference trophy to the list.

Although being crowned champions of the north is the ultimate goal for all teams, a spot in the NSW Touch Junior State Championship is also up for grabs.

The winner of the Northern Conference will play the winner of last week’s Southern Conference on Sunday, March 5, in Sydney in a Super Bowl style competition to determine the undisputed state champion.
